PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Chlorine is one of the most toxic elements found in nature, yet you come in contact
with it everyday. Many studies have shown that for better health we should
remove chlorine from our drinking water, but the same standards for drinking water
should be applied to our showering and bathing water.
Chlorine in shower water can trigger negative reactions in those who are chlorine
sensitive. Small children and the elderly are often the most susceptible. Asthma and
emphysema sufferers should be cautious of the chlorine vapors trapped in a shower
recess.
Chlorine chemically bonds to the protein in our hair and skin. It leaves your hair dry
and brittle not to mention dry scalp and dandruff. Chlorine destroys the natural
bacterial balance of the skin. Our skin has an ecology of it's own and needs to be
preserved in order to maintain healthy skin.
Rainshow'r provides both an immediate and long term solution to these problems of free
chlorine in shower water. Rainshow'r was the first to use the patented filter media
called KDF-55 which changes the molecular structure of chlorine by reversing the method
by which chlorine is made. KDF-55 has proven to be many times more effective than carbon
in removing chlorine. KDF is 100% recyclable as is our ABS Filter Housing. This is a
plus for addressing the demands of our
environmentally concerned customers.
In stringent laboratory testing Rainshow'r has proven to consistently remove over 90%
of free chlorine. Rainshow'r will control bacteria, fungus, algae and mold through it's
natural process of electrochemical oxidation / reduction.
HOW IT WORKS
There are 15 ounces (466 grams) of KDF media in each CQ-1000 cartridge. As chlorinated
water flows through the filter cartridge the two dissimilar metals in KDF, (copper and
zinc), create a galvanic or electrolytic reaction which causes the two chloride ions to
combine with a zinc ion to form harmless zinc chloride. KDF does not hold the chlorine,
it changes chlorine from an element to a harmless compound, which flushes out of the
filter. KDF is a non-toxic granular filter media which is produced within the
regulations of "The Drinking Water Act" (PL 99-399 of June 19, 1986)
CRYSTALLINE QUARTZ
The CQ-1000 is the world's first shower filter to utilize specially treated virgin
quartz to "energize" the shower experience by reducing the surface tension of the water.
This increases the lathering capacity of your soap and shampoo. Quartz does not soften
water but gives the water a lighter "feel", similar to the feeling of softened water.
Our natural crystals come to us directly from two North American high-energy crystal
mines. Rainshow'r uses specifically filtered water to clean the crystals and sun dry
them for maximum purity."

The CQ-1000 shower filter should remove 90% or more of unhealthy free chlorine for a period of 9 to 12 months for the average
family of four. The cartridge is easy to replace and requires NO TOOLS.
Chlorine levels vary from city to city. If you live in an area where the source water contains high levels of suspended solids
or where scale build-up in pipes is excessive, you may experience an early reduction in water flow. This may be an indication
that you need to replace the cartridge more frequently than the recommended 9 to 12 months.
